What:

More than 150 Girl Scouts from across Alabama will converge in Huntsville, Ala., Nov. 6-7, to visit NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Nearly two-dozen cadets and senior-level scouts will visit the Marshall Center Nov. 6 to discuss career opportunities in science, engineering and aerospace with NASA engineers. They’ll also tour Marshall’s key engineering facilities, including the East and West test areas, where the Scouts will view a liquid nitrogen demonstration. The group also will visit the Huntsville Operations Support Center at Marshall — a mission support facility that distributes secure voice communications, video and science and spaceflight data anywhere in the world.

The scouts will join the rest of their troop members that night at the Space & Rocket Center for a viewing of the animated feature “Aliens in the Attic.” On Nov. 7, the Scouts will take part in space-themed and rocketry workshops.
