EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS) today announced that its subsidiary, Hughes Satellite Systems Corporation (“HSSC”), plans to offer, subject to market and other conditions, up to $1 billion in aggregate principal amount of senior secured and unsecured debt securities (together, the “Notes Offering”). The net proceeds of the offering are intended to be used for capital expenditures,  working capital and other general corporate purposes.

The securities offered in the Notes Offering will only be offered and sold to qualified institutional buyers in accordance with Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”) and in offshore transactions in accordance with Regulation S under the Securities Act. The securities offered in the Notes Offering will not be and have not been registered under the Securities Act or the securities laws of any other jurisdiction.
