Administration witnesses will make their first trip to Capitol Hill to present the President’s fiscal year 2004 research and development budget. The Science Committee will review science and technology programs under its jurisdiction and will question the rationale behind the requests, the effects the new Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART) has on budget priorities, and the coordination efforts of interagency programs.
Witnesses will include:
- Dr. John Marburger, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy
- Dr. Rita R. Colwell, Director of the National Science Foundation
- Dr. Samuel W. Bodman, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Commerce
- Mr. Robert Card, Under Secretary of Energy for Energy, Science and Environment
