Honeybee Robotics Spacecraft Mechanisms Corporation has been selected as an engineering service provider in NASA’s Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services (OMES) contract for the Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). As part of the OMES team, Honeybee will offer development and validation services for new GSFC space and science missions.

The team, led by SGT Inc., will provide services for development and validation of new technologies, including study, design, systems engineering, development, manufacturing, integration, testing, verification, and operations of space flight, airborne and ground system hardware and software.

As an engineering service provider, Honeybee will render technology services for developing advanced robotic systems that support new NASA missions and applications, including in-space servicing missions and the Joint Polar Satellite System. Honeybee Robotics has a heritage of developing, manufacturing, and validating satellite components that provide increased capabilities for satellite systems and reliable end-effectors that can operate in unstructured environments.

The contract’s effective ordering period is from June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2017.
