Communications technology firm Harris Corp. of Melbourne, Fla., completed its $347.5 million acquisition of Schlumberger’s Global Connectivity Services business, which provides communications services to the oil and gas industries, the company announced April 5.
The acquisition, which was announced in November, makes Harris the world’s largest non-governmental buyer of commercial satellite communications bandwidth, the press release said. Harris last year acquired CapRock Communications of Houston, which provides satellite and other managed network services to U.S. government and industrial customers.
