Harris Corp. of Melbourne, Fla., received a $228 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to provide tactical satellite radios for a new generation of armored military vehicles, according to a Dec. 22, 2009, Harris press release.

The Marine Corps Systems Command contracted with Harris to provide Falcon 2 AN/VRC-104 radios for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) all-terrain vehicles that will be deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the release said. Harris has delivered more than 10,000 of the software-defined tactical radio systems for other versions of the MRAP vehicles, the release said.
