Veteran Executive to Manage the Multinational Technology Group

Rockville, MD – GMV , one of the leading international suppliers of satellite ground system software headquartered in Madrid, Spain with offices in Rockville, Md., today announced the appointment of Jesus Serrano as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Serrano has worked for GMV since its beginning, previously managing the aerospace and defense subsidiary.

In his new position effective January 14, 2009, Serrano will serve as the business group’s top executive, reporting directly to the board. Serrano replaces former CEO Luis Mayo.

Serrano has been Managing Director of the group’s aerospace and defense subsidiary since 2001. In this position, he has tirelessly been developing the business in these sectors and doubling the revenue. GMV is now one of the world leaders of Satellite Ground Systems, with business activities in the U.S., South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

Serrano’s career has involved GMV nearly all of his professional life. He began working in Germany in the European Space Agency and then joined GMV in 1986 as a specialist in flight dynamics. He then took on positions of increasing responsibility: head of the flight dynamics and avionics division (1989-1997), head of the business unit of engineering and space systems (1997-2000) and deputy director of space and defense (2000-2001). In 2001, Serrano was made managing director of GMV Aerospace and Defense subsidiary. He soon became the driving force behind GMV’s international expansion in the space sector in Europe and North America.

Jesus Serrano, 48, is a native of Spain. He graduated in with a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Madrid and also holds a PDG (Executive Management Program) from the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra. He is married with two children.
