The Science Committee will investigate the state of climate change science
at a hearing on Wednesday, March 14, 2001. The hearing will focus on the
gaps in our knowledge of climate change and how the federal government could
organize and fund a scientific effort to fill those gaps. This is the third
of three hearings on the Committee’s priorities for this Congress — energy,
education and the environment. This will be the first hearing in this
Congress on the climate change issue, and is structured to investigate
questions about the science agenda that Congress has overlooked while
debating other climate change issues.
