EMS Technologies, Inc.
today announced that it has received an authorization to
proceed (ATP) on advanced UHF antennas for a new military program currently in
production at Astrium. Full contract signature is expected shortly. Financial
details were not disclosed.

The UHF antenna for this program is a large deployable helix design with
separate receive and transmit elements that provide global coverage. Two
shipsets are to be provided with an option for a third set.

Alan L. Haase, senior vice president and general manager of the Space &
Technology/ Montreal Division, commented, “EMS has, for many years, enjoyed a
close relationship with Astrium, one of the world’s foremost satellite
manufacturers. These UHF antennas are the next important contribution that EMS
