DreamUp, the leading provider of space-based educational products and programs for learners and educators, is pleased to announce an agreement to acquire the assets of Because Learning, a provider of hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math lessons to classrooms and homes. With this agreement, DreamUp will bring Because Learning’s portfolio of STEM education programs and products into the DreamUp catalog of offerings.
Starting immediately, DreamUp customers can purchase access to over 150 customizable Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS) aligned STEM lessons, which utilize Because Learning’s Sensor Board and online coding and data visualization tools to provide unparalleled hands-on science and technology learning experiences for students. These added options increase the flexibility for educators looking for easy-to-implement hands-on STEM projects. These lessons can be used independently in the classroom or could also provide a stepping-stone for longer-term programs such as DreamUp’s DreamCoder or DIY Payloads.
DreamUp will continue to support current Because Learning customers worldwide in the 2021-2022 school year as they utilize products that have successfully engaged students in STEM, and particularly space science, in classrooms, homes, and other settings since 2014.
Lauren Milord, Director of Programs for DreamUp said, “Because Learning has built an incredible experience for its customers, so we are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to bring hands-on, space- and STEM-focused educational opportunities to their students. Because Learning’s products will complement our existing space education opportunities, filling a niche with an easy-to-use, adaptable product that can be easily implemented in any STEM classroom, regardless of the time available to an educator. With this acquisition, DreamUp continues to increase access to space for all learners.”
