NASA Deputy Administrator Fred Gregory will visit Houston on Tuesday, March 16, for briefings on a proposal to house a planned NASA Shared Services Center adjacent to the Johnson Space Center.

Six NASA centers, including JSC, have nominated potential sites for this new operation. The shared services center will consolidate selected business and technical support services into a single location, providing more cost effective and efficient services.

Following the briefing, Gregory will visit the 44-acre site on Saturn Lane, between NASA Parkway and Hercules, near Space Center Intermediate School and Space Center Houston.

Media are invited to view the proposed site where Gregory, JSC Director Jefferson D. Howell, Jr., and state and local officials will be available for brief comments beginning at 1 p.m. Media wishing to participate should arrive at the site no later than 12:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the media opportunity will occur indoors at Space Center Houston.
