Fairfax, Va.-based CapRock Government Solutions said Nov. 3 that it had signed a multiyear, multi-transponder strategic purchase agreement with Britain’s Paradigm Secure Communications Ltd. that will permit CapRock to market X-band and UHF communications capacity aboard Skynet 5 satellites to the U.S. military and intelligence community.
CapRock signed a similar contract in December 2008 with Rockville, Md.-based Xtar LLC, a Loral Space and Communications affiliate that sells X-band satellite capacity to the and allied governments. CapRock said the Paradigm agreement makes CapRock the largest network provider of commercial X-band services to the U.S. government.
Paradigm Secure Communications is the EADS Astrium subsidiary that owns and operates the three Skynet 5 geosynchronous satellites.
