The Commercial Spaceflight Federation is pleased to announce the addition of three new organizations to its membership: Alaska Aerospace Corporation as an Executive Member; and the Metropolitan State University of Denver and Waypoint 2 Space as Associate Members.
“We are very pleased to have these three new members on board,” stated CSF President, Michael Lopez-Alegria. “Each new member brings unique perspective and expertise to the table, and are engaged in exciting activities within the sector. I look forward to working with each of them.”
“We are excited to be joining the Commercial Spaceflight Federation,” stated Craig Campbell, President and CEO of Alaska Aerospace Corporation. “ We are eager to add our voice to the membership to promote and develop the commercial spaceflight sector.”
Campbell will be the newest addition to CSF’s Board of Directors.
The new CSF Members are as follows:
Alaska Aerospace Corporation (http://www.akaerospace.com): The Alaska Aerospace Corporation was established by the State of Alaska to develop a high technology aerospace industry in the state. AAC designed, built, and operates the Kodiak Launch Complex (KLC), a commercial spaceport that has provided over a dozen successful launches for the Air Force, MDA, NASA, and the Army.
Metropolitan State University of Denver (http://www.msudenver.edu): Denver MSU’s Aviation and Aerospace Science Department works to prepare students for careers in the industry, offering Bachelor of Science degrees in Professional Flight Officer, Aerospace Operations, Aerospace and Aviation Management, Space Physics, Aerospace Systems Technology, and Space Commerce.
Waypoint 2 Space (http://waypoint2space.com): Waypoint 2 Space provides sub-orbital and orbital space flight participant training utilizing a methodology which provides screening, orientation, and training. The program incorporates self-study, lecture, and practical simulations creating competencies exhibited during launch, sub-orbital, and orbital operations and recovery.
