Comtech EF Data Corp. of Tempe, Ariz., has completed the acquisition of Stampede Technologies, a Dayton, Ohio-based developer of satellite bandwidth optimization software, according to a Nov. 4 Comtech press release.
Comtech spokeswoman Sue Lassandro declined to disclose the financial terms of the acquisition.
Comtech manufactures very small aperture terminals and satellite modems, and the acquisition will enable the company to further expand its commercial offering of Wide Area Network optimization applications with the Stampede FX Series software, the press release said. Typical users of this software are Internet service providers, maritime operators and telecommunications firms.
