HOUSTON – As the U.S. House of Representatives debates the FY2010 national budget, the Coalition for Space Exploration recognizes that tough decisions have to be made. The Coalition supports full funding for NASA’s space exploration programs to ensure they remain on schedule. We thank Chairman Mollohan for his sustained support throughout his tenure as Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations chair and recognize the challenges that this year’s budget has presented. We also applaud the efforts of the Members who are speaking out on behalf of space exploration and are hopeful those leaders will work with the Chairman to restore President Obama’s request for full funding prior to the next fiscal year in October.
As a leading aerospace industry organization, member companies of the Coalition are ready to provide solutions to finding a long-term stable funding stream for NASA’s exploration budget, which is necessary to successfully design, develop and test the next generation of human spacecraft and launch vehicles that will allow our nation to remain preeminent in space.
