Today, President Biden released his Fiscal Year 2022 discretionary budget request.
Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) made the following statement.
“I am pleased to see strengthened investments in federal research and development in President Biden’s budget request announced today. The Biden Administration has made it clear we are moving forward with science at the forefront of decision making—a vitally important move to bolster our innovation enterprise and provide a robust response to our Nation’s pressing challenges, like the climate crisis. As we continue to recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic, we must invest in a stronger and more vibrant future for all Americans. I look forward to seeing the details of the President’s full budget and hearing from Agency heads on their thoughts on the proposal. As the Chairwoman of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, I remain committed to working with my colleagues to ensure our Nation’s scientific institutions are well equipped to ensure the United States remains a leader in science and innovation.”
