Today, President Joe Biden unveiled his infrastructure proposal, the American Jobs Plan.
Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) made the following statement.
“It is well past time that we make significant investments in the country’s transportation infrastructure, but that alone is far from sufficient to meet the needs of this moment. We must also make broad investments to update our energy grid, clean up our environment, help make communities across the country more resilient to climate change, revitalize manufacturing in America, advance next generation research and development initiatives, invigorate STEM workforce development, and engage all communities to ensure equitable distribution of these investments. The American Jobs Plan is a great start to achieving that goal. I look forward to working in a bipartisan, bicameral way to help craft a final package that can move forward with support from industry, the academic community, leading environmental organizations, and the American people.”
