The 8th Annual Cape Canaveral Spaceport Symposium is set for June 15-16 at the Radisson Resort in Cape Canaveral, Fla. The event is sponsored by NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, the U.S. Air Force’s 45th Space Wing, and Florida Space Authority.

Patricia Grace Smith, associate administrator for Commercial Space Transportation with the Federal Aviation Administration, gives the keynote address June 15. Smith will address the continuing role of the FAA in all facets of future airspace and spacelift operations.

NASCAR driver Ashton Lewis is the guest luncheon speaker June 16.  His presentation, “Racing and Space Enterprise: Sharing Technology to Improve Our Efficiency,”will focus on the similarities between racing and the Space Program.

Other speakers include key government and industry executives serving on the following panels: Global Aerospace Operations, Future Military Space Operations, Future Space Transportation, Exploration Frontiers and Space Recreation and Tourism.
