Colorado Springs, Colo. (May 30, 2003) The Space Foundation announced today the unanimous election of two nationally known aerospace industry leaders to its board of directors. Wes Bush, president of Northrop Grumman Space Technology, and Joanne Maguire, vice president of special programs, Lockheed Martin Space & Strategic Missiles, will serve on the board beginning June 2.

Bush was appointed president of Northrop Grumman Space Technology in January 2003. In this position, he holds complete general management responsibilities for the company’s Space Technology business. Bush previously served as president and CEO for TRW Aeronautical Systems. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Maguire previously served as TRW Space & Electronics deputy and as vice president of Business Development. She also served as vice president and general manager of the company’s Space & Laser Programs division. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Both Bush and Maguire are confirmed participants in Strategic Space 2003, a highly focused, national security space symposium presented by the Space Foundation and Space News, scheduled 2-4 September in Omaha, Neb., in support of America’s strategic space forces.
