Boston residents of all ages will have an opportunity to speak with NASA astronauts Joseph Acaba and Sunita Williams, a Needham, Mass., native, aboard the International Space Station at 11:55 a.m. EDT, Monday, August 27.
The event will take place at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. Media representatives are invited to attend. The event will be broadcast live on NASA Television. The library is located at 220 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston.
Acaba and Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Sergei Revin arrived at the space station on May 17. Williams, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Akihiko Hoshide and Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko completed the six-person crew on July 17.
NASA also is showcasing its multimedia exhibit, “Destination Station,” which is free with admission at the Boston Museum of Science. The exhibit remains open to the public through Sept. 3 and shares the accomplishments, promise and opportunities for research aboard the International Space Station
