ATK (ATK) will display a variety of its small satellite products, launch capabilities and programs as an exhibitor at the 2012 26th Annual AIAA/USU Conference on Small Satellites in Logan, Utah. The conference will be held at the Taggart Student Center at Utah State University from August 13-16, 2012.
ATK’s exhibit (Booth #11) will feature information on growing capabilities in several business areas from the ATK Aerospace Group, which includes the Space Systems Division and Defense and Commercial Division. ATK subject matter experts will be available to share information and materials on the Company’s newly expanded product line for small satellite platforms that it announced last week, as well as complementary low-cost launch systems. Visitors to the ATK exhibit can learn more about these innovative technologies through videos, animations, and product model displays.
The Company’s demonstrated capability to build small satellites quickly and effectively positions ATK as a leader in new space markets which include complex, on-orbit satellite servicing missions and quick-build satellites that meet emerging requirements. ATK’s expanded A series product line addresses these changing space markets.
The ATK A series product line consists of four basic configurations; A100, A200, A500 and A700, with elevated platforms of A150, A250, and A550 for even broader capability and flexibility for customers.
ATK, a world-leader in solid propulsion systems, in partnership with Lockheed Martin, offers an innovative, low-cost launch services solution tailored to the small satellite market through the Athena RideShare(TM) service. Changing the space launch paradigm, the service consolidates multiple small satellites together on a dedicated launch, offering greater affordability and schedule assurance through the Athena IIc launch vehicle. Initial launch of this service is planned for December 2014.
A conference workshop on the Athena RideShare(TM) program will be presented by Gregory Kehrl of Lockheed Martin and Matt Steele of ATK on Monday, August 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Eccles Science Learning Center, Room 046.
