Austin, Texas-based Astrotech Corp. will receive $2 million from NASA to prepare the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS)-L for its 2013 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., the company announced July 25.

Astrotech will perform the prelaunch processing services for the TDRS-L spacecraft at its Titusville, Fla., facility under a previously announced $12.5 million NASA indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. Astrotech’s Astrotech Space Operations subsidiary is providing prelaunch processing services for NASA’s Radiation Storm Belt Probes mission scheduled for an Aug. 23 launch. Last year, NASA awarded Astrotech a task order for TDRS-K prelaunch processing. That satellite is slated to launch in December.
