WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today announced that the first speaker for the newly created, bipartisan House Science and National Labs Caucus will be world-famous astrophysicist Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
Tyson is the Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the former host of NOVA ScienceNOW on PBS. He is also a bestselling author and a frequent guest on The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
Tyson will lecture on scientific exploration and the importance of our national investment in science. Co-sponsors of the event include the conservative Republican Study Committee and the liberal Congressional Progressive Caucus.
