After spending nearly six months on the International Space Station and taking part in more than 330 experiments, Astronaut Jack Fischer (Colonel, U. S. Air Force) will visit NASA’s Glenn Research Center on Jan. 18 to discuss his experiences in space.
Members of the media are invited to attend his multimedia briefing to employees at 2:30 p.m. at Glenn, 21000 Brookpark Road Cleveland, Ohio. Fischer will be available to the media for brief interviews from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. Media in attendance are welcome to stay from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. to observe as he meets and interacts with the local Girl Scouts who contacted him via amateur radio during his space station stay.
Fischer was a member of the Expedition 51-52 crew and returned to Earth on Sept. 3, 2017. During his mission, he logged more than 136 days in space and completed two spacewalks.
The scientific contributions Fischer and his crewmates made while on station will benefit research in biology, biotechnology, physical science and earth science.
Fischer was selected as a member of the 20th astronaut class in July 2009 and completed his training in 2011.
