“Roadmap to the Future” is the theme of the 7th Annual Cape Canaveral
Spaceport Symposium on tap for Oct. 29-30, 2002, at the Radisson Resort at
the Port, in Cape Canaveral, Fla.

The two-day event is sponsored by the Cape Canaveral Spaceport (CCS) — a
partnership of the Air Force 45th Space Wing, NASA/Kennedy Space Center, the
Florida Space Authority, as well as industry suppliers and partners of the
space program.

The topics of the featured talks are “A Vision of America’s Future in Space
Access,” “Space — The High Ground Defense of America,” “America’s
Exploration of Space — The Next 30 Years,” and “Regional Planning for the
Future of Central Florida.”

The featured speakers are some of the top experts in spaceport planning and
operations:

  • Frederick D. Gregory, Deputy Administrator, NASA
  • Dr. Jeremiah Creedon, Associate Administrator for Aerospace
    Technology, NASA
  • Maj. Gen. Howard Mitchell, Director of Operations, Air Force Space
    Command
  • Roy D. Bridges, Jr., Director, NASA/Kennedy Space Center
  • Brig. Gen. J. Gregory Pavlovich, Commander, 45th Space Wing
  • Edmond F. Gormel, Executive Director, Florida Space Authority

Other space program managers and community leaders participating are:
