The Aerospace Corporation announced today the promotion of Dr. Philip A. Fawcett as general manager for the company’s Electronic Programs Division, effective immediately. In this role, Fawcett will provide support to Intelligence Community space system acquisition activities.
Fawcett joined Aerospace in 1992, after completing his education at the Georgia Institute for Technology. Fawcett earned his undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, where he received the Sigma Xi top Georgia Tech Ph.D. Dissertation Award for 1992.
During his time at Aerospace, Fawcett has worked on launch vehicle programs at the Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center, provided strategic planning and requirements development for the military use of space systems for Air Force Space Command, and supported space programs within the Intelligence Community.
Prior to his current assignment, Fawcett managed corporate support to national-level space programs and was responsible for managing Aerospace programmatic, technical, and laboratory resources in support of state-of-the-art technology development programs, space architecture planning, and space system acquisitions.
