Abacus Technology Corporation, headquartered in Chevy Chase, Maryland, received the Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award for 2009 from NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The firm was recognized for providing outstanding services to KSC on the Information Management and Communications Support (IMCS) contract at the second annual NASA Small Business Symposium and Awards Ceremony held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center on November 17th 2009.

In June 2008, Abacus Technology was awarded the IMCS contract to support space launch operations at KSC with a maximum potential value of more than $900 Million. Over the past eighteen months, Abacus has continued to receive excellent ratings from NASA/KSC for its execution of a smooth 90 day contract phase-in that transitioned 600+ staff and for its support of KSC shuttle launch operations.

At KSC, Abacus Technology provides information management and communication services in support of space launch operations and related activities. Specifically, the firm furnishes personnel, equipment, and supplies to support voice communications; visual imaging; launch timing, transmission, and cable systems; administrative phones; IT security; publications management; and institutional computer/network services.
