NASA has awarded multiple contracts to provide rotorcraft vertical lift technology development research and development support at the agency’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley. The contracts to AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation of Philadelphia; The Boeing Company of Mesa, Arizona; Collins Aerospace of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Georgia Tech Research Corporation of Atlanta; Monterey Technologies Inc. of Park City, Utah; and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation of Stratford, Connecticut, also will provide services to other NASA centers and the U.S. Department of Defense.
The period of performance consists of a five-year base period, which begins on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, and runs through Dec. 20, 2026. These are multiple-award hybrid contracts with cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract task orders with a maximum aggregate value of $40 million.
The six contractors will provide resources and technical expertise to support the Rotorcraft Vertical Lift Technology Development through task orders in areas such as advanced rotorcraft technologies, flight controls and health management, and rotorcraft research testing. Most of the work will be performed at the contractors’ facilities, with some work performed at NASA Ames.
