Artemis on the Square is launching in downtown Huntsville, Alabama, on November 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center is partnering with Downtown Huntsville Inc. to tell the Artemis story and highlight the community’s contributions to the mission. The streets and sidewalks around Huntsville’s historic courthouse square will be filled with space exhibits, live music, and activities for all ages.
Visitors can experience the excitement of the technologies that will take us to the Moon and beyond including NASA’s Space Launch System rocket that will send Artemis I to the Moon. Exhibits will focus on how astronauts will get to the Moon, live and work in space, and future Artemis missions.
At 11 a.m., Marshall Center Director Jody Singer will be joined by SLS experts and city leaders for an opening ceremony to welcome the community and discuss the Artemis I mission and what it means to Huntsville.
Media are invited to speak with NASA personnel following the opening ceremony on the north side of the square.
Visitors using social media are encouraged to use the #Artemis, #DowntownHuntsville and #CountDownToLaunch hashtags in their posts.
