The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL), is scheduled to provide the 8:00 a.m. morning keynote address on Thursday, December 14 th at this year’s Depart of Defense (DoD) Commercial SATCOM Workshop.
The Strategic Forces Subcommittee is part of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC). It oversees the nation’s nuclear weapons, ballistic missile defense, national security space programs and Department of Energy national security programs. As Subcommittee Chairman, Congressman Rogers has addressed possible reforms to DoD national security space acquisition management and the future of space within the DoD. Rep. Rogers is a senior member of HASC and was selected to serve as Subcommittee Chairman in December 2012. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security. The Congressman was originally elected to the House of Representatives in 2002. The 13th annual DoD Commercial SATCOM Workshop will take place from December 12th-14th at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA.
