NASA has selected Universities Space Research Association (USRA) of Columbia, Maryland, to provide academic/university-based program and project support for science and engineering teams at the agency’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California.
The NASA Academic Mission Services (NAMS) contract is a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with a total value of approximately $193 million and a two-year base period, one two-year option, and one one-year option.
USRA will provide NASA with capabilities to fulfill mission requirements from fundamental research and development to field-test deployments and operational science missions. The contractor also must maintain effective methods for attracting and retaining leading-edge researchers and facilitating interactive participation and engagement of researchers and students with Ames employees.
