Media are invited to attend an event for the new Small Class Vehicle Launch Pad 39C at 8:30 a.m. EDT on Friday, July 17.
NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida took another step forward in its transformation into a 21st Century multi-user spaceport with the creation of a new launch pad that is designed to attract smaller aerospace companies and enable them to develop and launch their vehicles from the center.
The ceremony will be hosted by Kennedy Director Bob Cabana and representatives from the Ground Systems Development and Operations Program and Kennedy’s Center Planning and Development and Engineering Directorates.
International media accreditation for this event is closed. U.S. media without permanent credentials must apply for accreditation by noon on Thursday, July 16. Two forms of government-issued identification are required to receive a badge. One must be with a photograph such as a driver’s license or passport. Badges will be available for pickup at the Kennedy Badging Office, located on State Road 405 east of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Media should arrive at the Press Site at 7:30 a.m. to be escorted to the ceremony at 8 a.m. Following the event, the media will be escorted back to the Press Site by 10 a.m.
