Redfern Integrated Optics of Santa Clara, Calif., said Jan. 20 it would continue development of a spaceflight-caliber semiconductor laser under a NASA Small Business Innovation Research grant.
Potential uses for the laser include high-resolution spectroscopy, lidar and other precision measurement applications. The company did not disclose the value of the NASA award.
