NASA has awarded a contract to Facility Support Services, LLC of Richmond, Virginia, for the Wallops Island Fire Station construction project. This work will be performed at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Virginia.

This is a firm-fixed price contract with a value of $5,989,000. 

The contractor shall build a 16,900 square-foot, Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Fire Station on the north end of Wallops Island. The scope includes the demolition of existing facilities, installation of a precast concrete pile footing system, miscellaneous site work including asphalt and concrete paving, and construction of storm water retention ponds. In addition, work includes exterior construction of precast concrete panels, glass and metal storefront and curtain wall systems, pre-engineered metal trusses with metal roofing panels, installing coiling overhead doors and various mechanical and electrical systems, and completing interior architectural finishes.
