What: NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will hold two 2014 Honor Awards ceremonies Aug. 19. More than 240 individuals and nearly 90 Marshall project teams will be honored or recognized for their dedication and service to NASA’s and Marshall’s missions, programs and activities. Members of the local news media are invited to attend.
Who: NASA Associate Administrator Robert Lightfoot will deliver the keynote address and join Marshall Center Director Patrick Scheuermann to present awards. Lightfoot served as director of Marshall from 2009-2012.
When: Tuesday, Aug. 19
NASA Honor Awards — 10 a.m. to approximately noon CDT
Marshall Honor Awards — 2 p.m. to approximately 4 p.m.
(To ensure adequate security processing and badging time, members of the media are encouraged to arrive at Gate 9 at least 45 minutes prior to event start.)

To attend: News media interested in attending the event should contact Angela Storey in the Marshall Center’s Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than 4 p.m. CDT on Monday, Aug. 18. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Building 4200 on the southwest side.
