Following the success of its first three business networking events, the Space IDEAS Hub at the University of Leicester is turning the tables for its next event on Thursday 12 June 2014 at Phoenix Square, Leicester and asking the delegates to decide the content of the programme.
Dr Ed Chester, Project Manager of the Space IDEAS Hub said: “We’ve hosted three fantastic events so far with over 300 people coming to hear a programme that we’ve put together, and to network with like-minded people and our specially selected business advisors. The region is home to fantastic companies and technology and this time we wanted the delegates to decide what they would like to hear about.”
Interested parties are invited to submit ideas for talks on the dedicated event website –www.hubble.biz – and then the power of social media will take over! The list of potential talks is open for anyone to vote on what they’d like to hear about. The programme will not be finalised until it actually starts.
Dr Andy Powell of the Space IDEAS Hub said: “We’ve no idea how it is going to turn out, but that is true of any innovation and we’re really excited to see what ideas people propose. We expect to hear stories from local companies about their business, technologies, successes, ideas, even failures – anything goes! I hope we get the full spectrum from start-ups to multinationals.”
The Space Ideas Hub is a knowledge exchange and technology commercialisation initiative created, managed, and hosted by the Space Research Centre of the University of Leicester. A successful European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) application together with matched funding from the University enables a dedicated team to undertake a broad programme of activities intended to help businesses exploit the capacities and technologies developed for space-related projects.
