Dr. Karen L. Nyberg, who just returned in November from nearly 6 months living and working on the International Space Station, will visit NASA’s Glenn Research Center on March 20.

During her time aboard space station, Nyberg supported several experiments that were managed by Glenn.  These included a number of fluids and combustion experiments as well as running on the treadmill using new and improved harnesses developed at Glenn’s Exercise Countermeasures Lab.

A veteran of two spaceflights, Nyberg served as a Mission Specialist on STS-124 (May 31 to June 14, 2008) and a Flight Engineer for Expedition 36/37 (May 28 to November 10, 2013.) She has accumulated 180 days, or 4,320 hours in space. She also served as Crew Support astronaut for the Expedition 6 crew during their six-month mission aboard the International Space Station.

Nyberg will give a briefing on her experiences to the Glenn staff at 2:30 p.m. and a brief media opportunity will follow her presentation.

Reporters interested in attending the briefing at Glenn should call Katherine Martin at 216-433-2406 or the media relations office at 216-433-2901 by 10 a.m. on March 20 to be cleared through security.
