Satellite ground-system manufacturer GMV of Spain, continuing its expansion into new markets, has opened a subsidiary office in Warsaw, Poland, to attract new business in public transportation and what is expected to be a growing Polish space investment, Madrid-based GMV announced Oct. 22.
Miguel Angel Martinez, GMV’s corporate development director, said the Polish market is “an excellent springboard for further growth in other markets of Central and Eastern Europe.”
Martinez
said Polish public-transportation projects will be using GPS-based management systems. Longer term, GMV hopes that Poland, as a member of the European Union and future member of the European Space Agency, will raise its space profile.
GMV has offices in the United States and recently opened branches in Malaysia and South Korea.
