Washington, D.C. September XX, 2011 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) is pleased to announce that Ms. Cindy Moran, Director of Network Services at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), will keynote at the Annual DoD Commercial SATCOM User’s Workshop, co-sponsored by SIA and the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). The event will be held from December 13-15, 2011 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.

“SIA is honored to have Ms. Moran join in SIA’s annual flagship SATCOM Workshop,” said, Ms. Patricia Cooper, President of SIA. “Her perspective will add critical perspective on the continued interplay between the satellite industry and the Department of Defense as budgets tighten and requirements for satellite communications continue to evolve.”

This is the seventh year that SIA and USSTRATCOM have co-sponsored the DoD SATCOM Users Workshop. The workshop explores both the Department of Defense’s current requirements for satellite connectivity and the latest industry and technology trends to ensure effective communications for current and future military mission requirements. This event joins over 400 government officials from the defense and intelligence communities with satellite industry executives from spacecraft builders, launch providers, SATCOM operators, end-to-end providers, integrators, and ground equipment manufacturers.
