CLEVELAND — NASA astronauts Gregory H. Johnson and Michael Fincke, who flew aboard space shuttle Endeavor in May on STS-134, will be at NASA’s Glenn Research Center to give a post-flight mission briefing to employees at 1 p.m. on July 26 in the Administration Building auditorium. A brief media opportunity will follow.
Earlier in the day, the astronauts will meet with five students from Independence, Ohio, who placed third in a project called No Boundaries. It is a USA Today education initiative in collaboration with NASA to encourage students to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The students will attend the astronauts’ briefing at 1 p.m.
While in Cleveland, Johnson and Fincke will also give an overview of their mission on July 25 at 2 p.m. in the NASA Glenn Visitor Center at the Great Lake Science Center. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet the crew members after their presentation.
On the evening of July 25, they will participate in pregame activities at the Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Angels baseball game. They will make a presentation and each will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. During innings 1-3, they will hold an autograph session for fans.
During the 16-day mission of STS-134, Endeavour delivered an Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer and several space experiments developed at Glenn to the International Space Station along with other cargo.
