GenCorp Inc. (NYSE: GY) announced today that Linda Beech Cutler, formerly GenCorp vice president, Corporate Communications has assumed the newly created position of vice president, Corporate Responsibility, and that Glenn Mahone, formerly Aerojet executive director, Strategic Communications, has been named vice president, Communications.
“The formation of the office of Corporate Responsibility reflects the Company’s commitment to build upon the strong foundation of our legacy companies in corporate citizenship, environmental stewardship, sustainability, philanthropy, volunteerism and compliance in our communities and on a national level,” said Scott Seymour, GenCorp president and CEO and Aerojet president. “Linda is widely viewed as a leader in the business community as well as among the public and nonprofit sectors. She is an excellent choice to integrate and spearhead our corporate responsibility efforts.”
Ms. Cutler joined GenCorp in 2002 as vice president of Corporate Communications. She also serves as president of the GenCorp Foundation, chairperson of the Aerojet and GenCorp Political Action Committee and sits on numerous other community and business association boards.
Mr. Mahone joined Aerojet in 2007, bringing with him a 30 year track record encompassing a broad range of private sector, federal and state government media positions. He led the transformation of NASA’s communications efforts during two Administrations, significantly expanding NASA’s presence in the multimedia and Internet marketplaces. He also served as vice president for defense contractor, Systems Application and Technologies, Inc., where he directed business development and marketing.
“Glenn has significantly increased the awareness of Aerojet’s growing role in the aerospace and defense marketplace,” said Seymour. “In his expanded position, he will be providing enterprise-wide communications leadership to GenCorp to include our Easton real estate development segment and Aerojet operations.”
