What: On June 24, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will hold two 2009 Honor Awards ceremonies to recognize the achievements of 215 individuals and 52 Marshall teams — vital contributors in the past year to the U.S. space program and NASA’s continuing mission of exploration and discovery.

Members of the local news media are invited to attend. Marshall Center Associate Director Robin Henderson will be available for media interviews prior to the morning ceremony. Who: Bryan O’Connor, chief of NASA’s Office of Safety and Mission Assurance at NASA Headquarters in Washington, will deliver the keynote address and join Henderson to make the award presentations.

To attend: News media interested in attending the event should contact Angela Storey in the Marshall Center’s Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than 4 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, June 23. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Building 4200 on the southwest side.
