What: Team Redstone, which includes NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and Army organizations on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., will mark National American Indian Heritage Month Nov. 19 with traditional American Indian music, food, dance and activities. Festivities will include traditional and mystic American Indian dance in authentic regalia; storytelling; demonstrations of flint-knapping; kids’ games; preparation and tasting of traditional Indian fry bread and buffalo stew; and exhibits of American Indian artifacts.
Who: Scheduled to perform are Little Big Mountain, a fourth-generation dancer, singer and educator of American Indian culture from Gainesville, Ga.; flutist Mark Barfoot from Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; flint-knapping demonstrator Mike Gilbert from Moundville, Ala.; and dancers from several American Indian tribes.

Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
