Alexandria, VA – Sheree Kearns, Director of the Challenger Learning Center in Jacksonville Florida, plans to talk to teachers and students live from Japan on October 27th at 9:00am ET about life and culture in Japan. The event will be broadcast live at www.challenger.org. The live interactive webcast is free and open to the public.
Ms. Kearns is presenting photos and stories from her journeys across the country of Japan as a member of the fall delegation with the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund (JFMF) Teacher Program. Ms. Kearns is visiting schools across Japan and meeting with teachers, and will answer questions from students and teachers live during the webcast. Ms. Kearns is also visiting cultural sites and local industries and meeting with government officials during her trip.
The JFMF program is designed to increase understanding between the people of Japan and the United States by inviting U.S. elementary and secondary educators to visit Japan and share their experiences with fellow Americans upon their return. JFMF participants travel to Japan with other outstanding educators, learn about Japanese culture and education, and return to implement a self-designed plan to share their knowledge and experience with their students, colleagues and community.
