What: In observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will honor the contributions and skills of workers with disabilities during a program Oct. 16. This year’s theme is “America’s People…America’s Talent…America’s Strength!” Marshall personnel and the media are invited to attend the program at 2 p.m. in Building 4200, Room 504.
Who: Juliette Rizzo, national director of exhibits and events planning for the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, will speak. Rizzo promotes national education policy and educational opportunities for students, including 6.5 million disabled children. She speaks to audiences around the nation to raise awareness of the achievements and needs of Americans with disabilities. Rizzo was named Ms. Wheelchair America in 2005.

To attend: News media interested in covering the event should contact the Marshall Public & Employee Communications Office at (256) 544-0034 no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
