HAMPTON, Va. — As part of NASA’s 50th anniversary celebration, NASA Langley Research Center will host a series of lectures this October highlighting the agency’s historical feats in exploration and discovery in science, aeronautics and space. The talks will also include a look ahead to future endeavors.
The series, called “NASA at 50: A Celebration of Science, Technology and the Spirit of Human Exploration,” will include the following lectures:
* October 7: NASA Human Spaceflight: Past, Present and Future by Ken
Reightler * October 14: The Exploration of the Moon and Planets: A New Perspective on
Earth by Dr. James W. Head III * October 21: Why NASA and Earth Science Are Vital for Human Wellbeing by
Dr. Jeffrey D. Sachs * October 28: 50 Years of NASA Aeronautical Research by Roy V. Harris

The speakers will present the same lectures for the general public on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Air & Space Center on Settlers Landing Road in Hampton. The evening talks are FREE and no reservations are required.
