WASHINGTON — Stalled legislation to reauthorize the U.S. Export-Import Bank could be headed for a vote as soon as Oct. 26 after a bipartisan group of House lawmakers successfully filed a petition Oct. to force action on the measure.
Executives from Orbital ATK and Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems have said their companies have lost business as a result of the lapse in the Ex-Im Bank’s authorization on July 1. The bank is often used for financing satellite deals.
The so-called discharge petition, led by Reps. Stephen Fincher (R-Tenn.), Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), was signed by 218 House members and could, under House rules, lead to a vote on whether to reauthorize the bank on Oct. 26.
