In this episode of the SpaceGeeks podcast, Dan Leone talks to Mark Becnel: Co-founder of small space-electronics builder RadioBro. Mark barely waited for the ink on his masters in aerospace engineering to dry before setting up shop in the corn fields outside Huntsville, Alabama.

ChargerSAt-1 on Facebook. The Becnel twins worked on the bird while still at UAH. It went up Nov. 19, 2013, on a Minotaur 1 from Wallops Island, Virginia, as part of the Air Force’s ORS-3 mission. Sadly, ChargerSat-1 was never heard from again — but the experience of building it on a shoestring budget convinced the Becnels they could do stuff like that for a living after graduation.
