Arlington, Va., Mar. 13, 2013 – ATK (NYSE: ATK) has received a contract valued up to $81 million from the U.S. Air Force Space Development and Test Directorate (SDTD) at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., for Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP) Peacekeeper and Minuteman Solid Rocket Motors Aging Surveillance and Motor Disposal efforts.

The contract is a one-year effort for ongoing aging surveillance for both Minuteman and Peacekeeper motors, with potential for up to four annual extensions. If all options are executed, the contract would extend through November 2017. Efforts include component dissection, motor plugging, propellant properties testing and hazards analysis, as well as overall program support. In addition to these basic annual efforts, the RSLP contract also provides for special studies and efforts such as static test support, motor disposals, and additional component development or testing on an as-required basis. ATK has supported solid rocket motor propulsion efforts for RSLP since 1997.

“We are extremely pleased to have been selected to continue our support to the Air Force’s Space Development and Test Directorate,” said Lamberth Blalock, Vice President of Air Force Programs for ATK’s Aerospace Group. “ATK is proud of its long history of working with SDTD. This award expands our RSLP role to include Minuteman Stage II efforts for the first time.”
