Former NASA astronaut Dr. Roger Crouch will speak at Weymouth High School in Weymouth, Mass., when the Vision for Space Exploration Experience exhibit rolls into town Monday, Oct. 2. The Experience is a traveling exhibit using holographic and 3D imagery to allow visitors to explore what it might be like on the surfaces of the moon, Mars and beyond.

Jose Matienzo, lead engineer for the certification process of the ATLAS and DELTA Expendable Launch Vehicles at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., also will speak to visitors Oct. 3 and 4. ATLAS and DELTA vehicles are used by NASA to launch scientific, weather and communications spacecraft and satellites into orbit.

Crouch and Matienzo will share with students the messages of the Vision for Space Exploration — the nation’s effort to extend human reach across the solar system. Crouch also will discuss how science and space research enhance life on Earth, and the importance of recruiting future generations of space explorers from among today’s students.
